UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Are gardening and landscaping on your agenda for this spring and summer? If so, there are educational resources and information just a mouse-click away. Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences has numerous Web sites dedicated to providing information for home gardeners and do-it-yourself landscapers.

Whether you want tips or ideas for creating a flower garden, planting and tending your vegetable plot, establishing and maintaining your lawn, or choosing and caring for your trees and shrubs -- or you need advice about insect pests, selecting plants to provide wildlife habitat, attracting hummingbirds and butterflies or proper use of pesticides -- you can find what you need to know by visiting Penn State Web sites.

--The Consumer Horticulture site (http://hortweb.cas.psu.edu/extension/consumerhort/consum.html) offered by the department of horticulture contains links to numerous resources for gardeners, including printable fact sheets on such consumer topics as transplanting annual seeds to the garden and pruning ornamentals. In addition, there is a frequently asked garden questions page to help address common gardening concerns.
